Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between running count and true count?

The running count is the raw total of card values you've tracked. The true count divides the running count by the estimated number of decks remaining in the shoe. The true count is what actually determines your advantage and how much you should bet.

How do I calculate true count quickly?

To calculate true count, you need to estimate the remaining decks by looking at the discard tray. If your running count is +6 and there are about 3 decks left, your true count is +2. Practice visualizing 1/2 deck, 1 deck, and 2 deck stacks to improve your real-time accuracy.
